Solitair
– View with a Pulse

Panoramic views from our top-class observation tower!

Soaring 39 meters above the terrain, the “Solitair” tower stands tall above the Rappbode Dam. Completed in spring 2022, this steel mesh structure offers sweeping views of the eastern Harz and surrounding landscapes. With 16-meter-deep foundations, the delicate-looking tower is clad in architectural textile and can be climbed via 160 steps or a panoramic glass elevator. The grated viewing platform includes two glass decks offering premium views of the Rappbode Valley, dam, and suspension bridge.

Solitair is a one-of-a-kind, multifunctional observation tower in the Harz, home to our signature wall running and newest event: the breathtaking Ultrashot!

How does it work?

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket center at the main “Rappbodetalsperre” parking lot, here on our website, or at the ticket machine directly at the observation tower. On peak days (holidays, school breaks), wait times may occur due to an automatic visitor limit. This ensures both safety and an enjoyable visit.
